MPEACH ANNOUNCES SINGLE TBT
OUT JULY 6, 2018 – PREMIERING ON BBC RADIO 1
Premiering July 5th on Jubilee's residency on BBC Radio 1,
Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist MPeach's latest single
"TBT" pays homage to the nostalgia and generation-defining
markers of early perreo days, harkening back to the soundtrack
of growing up in her native Venezuela.
"TBT" smoothly traces and translates the evolution of
production styles and technology that form the backbone of the
dembow riddim reggaetón lineage, which evolved from being a
connective point between the Caribbean, Latin America, and
beyond, to becoming a global pop phenomenon.
Written with analog hardware and an MPC sampler, and finished with digital production tools, the chorus playfully references early
reggaetón romantiqueo days of Baby Rasta y Gringo's "Cierra los Ojos Bien," leveraging an empowered coquette approach to the
dance floor a-la Ivy Queen. Self-released on MPeach's Peachtown label, "TBT" was produced by Jimmy Flamante, MPeach and
